Bring Science to Life in the Classroom – Join Vuurvliegen in Leiden!
We invite your school to participate in Vuurvliegen, a free and spectacular science event for primary schools! During this science battle, four to five young researchers present their work to an audience of 150–300 students from grade 7. The children not only get to know the world of science—they truly become part of it.
Why Vuurvliegen?
At C3, we are committed to high-quality study and career orientation. We believe it’s never too early to start discovering your interests and talents! Vuurvliegen introduces children to science in a playful and interactive way—straight from the researchers themselves.

What can you expect?
– An afternoon full of excitement: researchers present their work in engaging ways.
– Interaction with the children: there’s plenty of room for questions and discussion.
– Students as the jury: they vote with marbles for the best presentation.
– A festive finale: the winner is announced during an award ceremony.
